The Bah\u00e1’\u00ed Faith is a <\/span><\/span><\/strong>monotheistic<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/span> <\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/span>religion<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/a> founded by <\/span><\/span><\/strong>Bah\u00e1’u’ll\u00e1h<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/a> (see also <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/strong>Aposteles of\u00a0Bah\u00e1’u’ll\u00e1h<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/a>) <\/span>nineteenth-century Persia, emphasizing the spiritual unity of all humankind. <\/sup>There are an estimated five to six million Bah\u00e1’\u00eds around the world in more than 200 countries and territories. <\/sup>In the Bah\u00e1’\u00ed Faith, religious history is seen to have unfolded through a series of divine messengers, each of whom established a religion that was suited to the needs of the time and the capacity of the people. These messengers have included <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/strong>Abraham<\/span><\/a><\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/span>,<\/span><\/a> the <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/strong>Buddha<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/a>, <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/strong>Jesus<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/a>, <\/span><\/span><\/strong>Muhammad<\/span><\/a><\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/span> <\/span><\/a>and others, and most recently <\/span>the<\/span> <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/strong>B\u00e1b<\/span><\/a><\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/span> <\/span><\/a>( ~ John the Baptist\/Mandeism<\/span><\/a>) and <\/span><\/span><\/strong>Bah\u00e1’u’ll\u00e1h<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/a>. In Bah\u00e1’\u00ed belief, each consecutive messenger prophesied of messengers to follow, and Bah\u00e1’u’ll\u00e1h’s life and teachings fulfilled the end-time promises of previous scriptures. Humanity is understood to be in a process of collective evolution, and the need of the present time is for the gradual establishment of peace, justice and unity on a global scale. The persecution of Bah\u00e1’\u00eds is the <\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/span>religious persecution<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/a> of Bah\u00e1’\u00eds in various countries, especially in <\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/span>Iran<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/a>,where the <\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/span>Bah\u00e1’\u00ed Faith<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/a> originated and the location of one of the largest Bah\u00e1’\u00ed populations in the world. The origins of persecution stem from a variety of Bah\u00e1’\u00ed teachings that challenge traditional <\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/span>Islamic<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/a> belief, including the finality of <\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/span>Muhammad’s<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/a> prophethood, and places Bah\u00e1’\u00eds outside the Islamic faith. <\/sup>Thus Bah\u00e1’\u00eds are seen as <\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/span>apostates from Islam<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/a>, and, according to some, must choose between repentance and death.<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Bah\u00e1’\u00eds as well as the United Nations, Amnesty International, the European Union, the United States and peer-reviewed academic literature have stated that the members of the Bah\u00e1’\u00ed community in Iran have been subjected to unwarranted arrests, false imprisonment, beatings, torture, unjustified executions, confiscation and destruction of property owned by individuals and the Bah\u00e1’\u00ed community, denial of employment, denial of government benefits, denial of civil rights and liberties, and denial of access to higher education. Belief and practice<\/strong> –Bah\u00e1\u2019\u00ed <\/strong>teachings focus on unity \u2013 the oneness of God, the oneness of religion, and the oneness of the human race. A central belief is progressive revelation \u2013 that God progressively reveals His teachings for humanity through a series of divine educators that become the founders of the world\u2019s great religions. TV-TIPP: Bahai – Religion für eine neue Zeit (ORF\/3sat)<\/strong> – Israel ist das Heilige Land der drei großen Offenbarungsreligionen: des Judentum, des Christentum und des Islam. Doch Israel ist auch das Heilige Land einer vierten – noch nicht so bekannten – Weltreligion: der Baha\u2019i.Wieso entscheiden sich Österreicher, wie die Familie Penz aus Hall in Tirol dazu, sich dieser neuen Religion anzuschließen? Der 45-jährige Andreas Penz bringt es auf den Punkt: „Weil ich zum ersten Mal von einer Einheit der Menschheit und der Einheit der Religionen gehört habe – das war für mich wie ein Blitzlicht.“<\/span><\/p>\n

Für die Dokumentation „Baha\u2019i – Religion für eine neue Zeit“<\/strong> besuchte Regisseurin Pia Patricia Schweizer Familie Penz in Tirol und erkundete gemeinsam mit der 22-jährigen Tochter Marina die „Magie“ der heiligen Stätten der Baha\u2019i in Israel. In Haifa befindet sich das geistige und administrative Zentrum dieser jüngsten Weltreligion. Sie glauben an den einen Gott, haben ihre eigenen Heiligen Schriften und einen Religionsstifter mit dem Namen Baha\u2019u\u2019llah. Weltweit bekennen sich etwa sechs Millionen Menschen zu diesem Glauben. Die 22-jährige Tochter der Familie Penz, Marina, ist Baha\u2019i und hat sich entschieden, ein „Freiwilliges Soziales Jahr“ in Haifa zu machen.<\/span><\/p>\n

Die „Hängenden“ oder die „Persischen Gärten“ der Baha\u2019i sind eine perfekte Komposition aus Architektur und Natur. Die neunzehn Terrassen auf dem Berg Karmel wurden gemeinsam mit dem Mausoleum des Bab 2008 von der UNESCO zum Weltkulturerbe<\/strong> erklärt. Seit der Eröffnung der Terrassen im Jahr 2001 wurden sie von zwei Millionen Menschen besucht; an manchen Tagen kommen bis zu 3000 Besucher. Die 1953 erbaute goldene Kuppel des Mausoleums, die von den Baha\u2019i „Königin des Karmel“ genannt wird, ist das Wahrzeichen der Stadt Haifa.<\/span><\/p>\n

Größte religiöse Minderheit im Iran<\/strong> – Bis heute werden Baha\u2019i im Land ihrer Entstehung, im Iran, verfolgt. Sie sind die größte religiöse Minderheit, genießen aber keinerlei Schutz wie Juden oder Christen. Die Vereinten Nationen und die Europäische Union äußerten sich wiederholt besorgt über die Unterdrückung der Baha\u2019\u00ed. So wird der Iran in einer UNO-Resolution vom 21. Dezember 2010 erneut wegen schwerer Menschenrechtsverletzungen und der Diskriminierung von Bah\u00e1\u2019\u00ed scharf verurteilt.<\/span><\/p>\n

Marinas Eltern in Tirol sind vor neun Jahren Baha\u2019i geworden. Sie lieben die Berge ihrer Heimat, sind Mitglieder des örtlichen Radlerclubs und spielen Theater. Das Einzige, was sie von ihrem überwiegend katholischen Umfeld unterscheidet, ist ihre Religion. „Es war für mich immer klar, dass es eine höhere Macht gibt, dass es einen Gott gibt, und als ich dann die Baha\u2019i-Religion kennengelernt habe, haben sich für mich sehr viele Fragen beantwortet. Es hat mein Leben von der inneren Einstellung wesentlich geändert, alles ist viel größer geworden – und man hat auf einmal vom eigenen Leben über die Landesgrenzen hinaus geschaut.“, sagt Andreas Penz rückblickend. Eine Konsequenz des Baha\u2019i-Glaubens ist ein entschiedenes soziales Engagement.<\/span><\/p>\n

Haleh Arbab<\/strong>, Vertreterin der Internationalen Baha\u2019i-Gemeinde in Haifa: „Bei unserer Religion geht es hauptsächlich um die geistige Wandlung des Einzelnen und auch um die gesellschaftliche Neugestaltung – es ist eine Religion, für die beides wichtig ist….Wir als Baha\u2019i entwickeln uns zu geistigen Menschen, indem wir die Heiligen Schriften lesen, meditieren, an uns selbst arbeiten, aber auch, indem wir für die Gesellschaft tätig sind – und das vor allem durch den Dienst an Anderen.“ In über 900 großangelegten, nachhaltigen sozialen und wirtschaftlichen Entwicklungsprojekten in aller Welt, darunter auch 500 Schulen, soll das umgesetzt werden.<\/span><\/p>\n

Es gibt nicht nur die „eine Wahrheit“ – Die Baha\u2019i sind davon überzeugt, in ihrer Religion den Kern und die Sehnsucht aller Religionen vereint zu haben. Sie verstehen sich als Fortsetzung der bereits vorhandenen Religionen. Vielleicht auch als deren Erfüllung. Und sie glauben, dass die göttliche Offenbarung weitergehen wird. Die „eine Wahrheit“ gibt es für sie nicht. Die Aufgabe des Menschen ist es, weiter zu lernen und sich verantwortlich für die Zukunft der Menschheit einzusetzen. Und so arbeiten sie alle für Baha\u2019u\u2019llahs Versprechen: „Die Erde ist nur ein Land, und alle Menschen sind seine Bürger.“ <\/span><\/strong><\/span>> Sendedaten: Montag, 31.
