Raja Deekshithar is an independent researcher and author and has been lecturing and publishing on various aspects of South Asian culture and traditions in India and abroad. He has published books, articles, websites and videos. His research revolves around the history, culture and traditions of South India. One of his main projects has been his research into his discovery of sphinxes in South- and South-East Asian art and traditions\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

He has contributed articles to Marg Magazine, The Encyclopedia of Food and Culture, and various other journals and magazines. He is one of the trustees of the Shri Shiva Nataraja temple of Chidambaram, India. Born in the traditional priestly family which is the hereditary custodian of this ancient Vedic temple, he enjoyed both an academic and traditional education.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
