Democracy has worked wonders for the State of Israel. It has not done so well for any of our neighbors.
We live in an age with no simple answers. We must be wary of predicting that democracy or any other form of rule will salvage the situation.
Hamas was also democratically elected in the Gaza Strip. Like in Hitler’s Germany, no new elections have been held in Gaza since.
Hitler’s rise to power was by democratic means, but once in power, he did away with the nuisance of elections.
