Wir informieren gerade die Bevölkerung in Breitenfurt über ein neues Flüchtlingsquartier für 24 Jugendliche und 24 Erwachsene und Familien. Das Interesse ist trotz des EM Qualifikationspiel heute Abend enorm. Was mich besonders freut, dass es eine Unterstützung aller politischen Parteien für dieses Projekt gibt. Ein weiterer Beitrag einer Gemeinde um endlich die Obdachlosigkeit in Traiskirchen zu beenden.

Einige Staaten, in denen besonders viele Menschen ankommen, wollen einen Mechanismus, mit dem Flüchtlinge in der Union verteilt werden. Zu ihnen gehören Staaten an der Außengrenze der Gemeinschaft und Deutschland, das dieses Jahr mindestens 800.000 Asylbewerber erwartet.

Liebe FreundInnen,
Viele von euch waren in den vergangenen Tagen und Wochen unterwegs um Flüchtlinge zu unterstützen, an den Bahnhöfen, in Traiskichen in Ungarn, manche auch in Serbien, Mazedonien oder Griechenland. Wir sind gerade dabei die neue asyl aktuell zu produzieren. Eigentlich wollten wir wie üblich nicht sehr stark auf die aktuellen Ereignisse eingehen und uns eher auf Hintergrundinfos etc. konzentrieren.
Am Sonntag hatten wir aber die Idee euch zu bitten von eueren stärksten Eindrücken, Erfahrungen und Erlebnissen zu berichten und zwar in max. 2.500 Zeichen wen geht mit Foto und einer kurzen AutorInnennotiz. Wir hätten die Texte gerne im laufe der Woche. Bitte mailen an langthaler@asyl.at

Soll man Flüchtlingen, die sich derzeit in Ungarn aufhalten, in Ungarn selbst aktiv dabei helfen, über die Grenze nach Österreich zu gelangen? Nein.
So sehr ich das Engagement, das hinter dieser Idee steht, ehrlich achte, muss ich doch sagen: Ich kann derzeit NUR DAVON ABRATEN, nach Ungarn zu fahren, um Flüchtlinge entweder direkt über die Grenze zu bringen oder doch wenigstens bis zur österr.-ungar.- Grenze (von wo aus sie dann alleine weiter gehen müssten), und zwar aus folgenden Gründen:
1.: nach meinen Informationen wäre zumindest der Transport von „illegalen Migranten“ über eine Grenze in Ungarn gerichtlich strafbar – und zwar sowohl für die Flüchtlinge selbst als auch für jene, die sie unterstützen. Wer erwischt wird (ob Flüchtling oder Helfer) müsste daher im worst case sogar mit Untersuchungshaft rechnen.
2.: zudem bin ich informiert worden, dass Autos, die für solche „Handlungen“ verwendet werden, für verfallen erklärt werden können (ob und wie ungarische Strafverfolgungsbehörden einen Transport „nur“ bis an die Grenze nicht auch genauso als gerichtlich strafbar einstufen würden, darüber können wir derzeit nur spekulieren).
3.: Ein Strafverfahren in einem fremden Staat, dessen Sprache man nicht einmal beherrscht, ist höchst unangenehm und kann letztlich Existenzen gefährden, wenn nicht zunichte machen.
4.: In Österreich werden die illegale Einreise und der illegale Aufenthalt als Verwaltungsübertretung geahndet, allerdings mit teils empfindlichen Geldstrafen. (Auch) hier gilt: UnterstützerInnen können ebenso bestraft werden wie Flüchtlinge selbst.
5.: Verwaltungsstrafen können deshalb deutlich teuer werden als gedacht, weil sie für jeden Einzelfall extra, also nebeneinander, verhängt werden können. Im worst case können höhrere vierstellige Beträge zusammenkommen.
6.: Natürlich lässt sich alles mögliche und unmögliche im Fall der Fälle argumentieren: es wäre ein Notstand, man hätte in einem Akt der Nothilfe gehandelt, man hätte im Interesse von Menschenrechten gehandelt etc.pp. Das Problem ist nur, dass wir alle nicht wissen, ob und wie weit solche Argumente in Ungarn auch verfangen – oder aber verpuffen. Sie sind schon in Österreich schwer genug (wenn überhaupt) verständlich zu machen.
7.: Wie schon einmal gesagt: wer bewusst – das heißt aber auch: im genauen Wissen um die Folgen! – aus Gewissensgründen mit einem bestimmten Regelverstoß das Risiko einer Strafverfolgung in Kauf nimmt, setzt einen Akt des zivilen Ungehorsams. Wer ohne genaues Wissen um diese Folgen in einem fremden Staat gegen dortiges Recht verstößt, handelt leichtsinnig.
Leute: wir (und die Flüchtlinge) brauchen euch in Österreich. Und zwar heute, morgen und ziemlich sicher auch noch in drei Monaten! Schaut auf euch, und setzt euch – und die Menschen, denen ihr helfen wollt! – keinen unkalkulierbaren Risiken aus.

It is truly heartening that the world is taking note of Tibetan democracy in exile. The Sikyong election four years ago not only received good media coverage, it got featured in government statements. More specifically, it got mentioned in the US Senate Resolution # 356. As regards the upcoming Tibetan election, the US House Resolution # 337 of July 8, 2015 clearly calls on the US Government “to recognize and increase global public awareness and monitoring of the upcoming election process through which the Tibetan people in exile will choose the next democratically elected leader of the Central Tibetan Administration, the Sikyong.”
