Millionen Muslime heben ihre Hand mit dem Zeigefinger, aus Freude und Dankbarkeit, auch unsere Soldaten, wie seinerzeit der tausenden bosnischen Soldaten, die bei der Verteidigung dieses Landes gefallen sind.
Die Muslime in Österreich genießen die volle rechtliche Gleichstellung mit den anderen Staatsbürgern und honorieren ihrerseits diese Gleichstellung mit der unbedingten Loyalität zum österreichischen Staat und zu seinem Rechtssystem. Mit dieser Bewusstheit lehnen sie auch bei jeder Gelegenheit jede Art von Gewalt und Extremismus ab.
Pressefreiheit ist ein grundsätzlicher Wert. Der soziale Frieden und Zusammenhalt einer Gesellschaft soll geschützt werden. Die eigene Verantwortung jedoch ist ein Schlüsselbegriff, in der Ausübung der Pressefreiheit. An eine Selbstkontrolle im Sinne eines ausgewogenen und fairen Journalismus soll auch erinnert werden.
Ein gemeinschaftliches Empfinden, dass sich dieses oder jenes gewissermaßen „von selbst verbietet“, scheint eher mit Homogenität als mit Vielfalt vereinbart zu sein.
Muslime in Europa sind sich dieser Tatsache schmerzlich bewusst und sehen sich einem ständigen Rechtfertigungsdruck ausgesetzt. Unser Appel an Alle ist daher noch behutsamer umzugehen.
