Diese Information habe man von Unterstützern der Asylwerber, teilte die Organisation mit. Im Innenministerium wies man die Vorwürfe zurück.

Rechtlich gesehen fielen die Kombattanten des belgischen Widerstands ohnehin unter die Haager Landkriegsordnung sowie die späteren Genfer Konventionen. Demgemäß sahen sich die Partisanen aufgrund des völkerrechtswidrigen Angriffskrieges des Deutschen Reiches zum bewaffneten Widerstand berechtigt. Dies beinhaltete auch das Töten feindlicher Soldaten. Allerdings sprechen die genaueren Umstände in diesem Fall eine durchaus zwiespältige Sprache. Auch davon berichtet Zeitzeuge Gilbert Beeckmans: So hatte es einen Fliegerangriff auf einen Transportzug der Deutschen gegeben, bei dem viele Soldaten versprengt wurden und teils in der Gegend umherirrten. Einen dieser versprengten Soldaten hatte die Widerstandsgruppe, die in der Umgebung von Petit Enghien aktiv gewesen war, gefangen genommen und letztlich grausam getötet.
Hier in Petit Enghien geht es für Göse darum, die Gebeine des Kriegstoten würdevoll und vor allem vollständig zu bergen. Dazu musste am Vortag bereits eine mehrere Zentimeter dicke Betonplatte entfernt werden, die bisher das Fundament des kleinen Müllplatzes bildete. Darunter findet sich eine mehr als ein Meter dicke Schicht mit einheitlich gefärbtem, ockerfarbenem Baugrund. Erst darunter sieht man dunklere Erde, den Mutterboden. „Ab hier wird es für uns interessant“
