These YouTube channels DO NOT use advertisements and hence DO NOT generate revenue for the North Korean government in any way. In light of this, I do not understand how they can be thought to violate any US, EU, or UN sanctions regime.

One of the journalists asked whether Belarus‘ efforts to ensure the openness of the military exercise were successful. “These efforts would be successful if our western partners did not attempt to artificially create tensions, if they had a genuine interest in obtaining the objective information about the exercise. We must regretfully state that there is no genuine and real interest,” Vladimir Makei said.
The minister added that Belarus has never posed a threat to its neighbors and has no intention to be a threat to anyone.

#Rohingya crisis: UN sees ‚ethnic cleansing‘ in Myanmar

In 2016 a total of six Burmese military personnel visited the UK to undertake UK Government funded defence educational training courses. A further 13 Burmese military personnel visited the UK up to 14 July this year.

We were first taken to a small school in Maungdaw, now crowded with displaced Hindu families. They all had the same story to tell of Muslims attacking, of fleeing in fear. Oddly, Hindus who have fled to Bangladesh all say they were attacked by local Rakhine Buddhists, because they resemble Rohingyas.
In the school we were accompanied by armed police and officials. Could they speak freely?

Debate on Rohingya crisis in British Parliament today:

Words fail me, so I will let the numbers speak: 270,000. men, women, children, and the elderly. Tragic.

h

No direct pressure on Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, who commands the soldiers committing these violations.

If Rohingya sources are correct, the number killed are many more than in the Monk led uprising in Burma ten years ago this September. They also equal the lower estimates of the number killed in the 8.8.88 uprising.

In a debate on the crisis in Parliament on Tuesday 5 September the Foreign Office minister responsible for Burma, Rt Hon Mark Field MP, did not appear to know what was taking place or what the Foreign Secretary and Foreign Office have done in response.

The British government has not even issued a statement condemning Min Aung Hlaing and his military for the attacks against Rohingya civilians, including children. It continues to provide his military with free training.

The European Union External Action Service issued a statement on the crisis which did not even refer to Rohingya by name, so afraid are they of upsetting the Burmese government and military.

Britain and other countries proving the Burmese military with training or entering in co-operation programmes must stop doing so. Britain and the EU must stop companies supplying the military with any kind of equipment. Britain should work to build support for a global UN arms embargo.

VOR ORT: Joc Ysselsteyn | „Get up, stand up – Menschenrechte für alle!
